- CLIFF HARRIS GETS CUT BY JETS FOR GETTING ARRESTED, THEN GETS ARRESTED AGAIN - Former New York Jets cornerback Cliff Harris was arrested on Monday in New Jersey for allegedly possessing marijuana. On Tuesday the Jets cut him. On Friday Harris’ bad luck with the law continued after he was arrested again, this time on a domestic harassment charge, KGW-TV in Portland, Oregon reports.
According to the report, Harris and his girlfriend were seen and heard arguing inside a Buffalo Wild Wings in Hillsboro, Oregon. After the couple left the restaurant, Harris was seen pushing his girlfriend around in the parking lot.
Harris was originally signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent after last year’s but was released in August. He was never signed by another team during the regular season. But in January Harris signed a reserve-future contract with the Jets.
In 2011, while attending Oregon, Harris was also arrested. After being ask by an officer if he had any marijuana in the car, Harris famously replied, “We smoke it all.”
Because of his actions this week, Harris may have guaranteed he’ll never step foot inside an NFL locker room again. (Photo: newyorkjets.com)
